The importance of
hydrating your skin
The skin acts as a protective barrier to prevent infections and to limit bacteria which could affect your health. The skin regenerates itself approximately every 27 days.
Why must skin be well hydrated?
Skin is an organ which is constantly in contact with the outside elements. It thus plays a key exchange role but more importantly, it acts as a shield to the exterior world. The skin’s superficial layer, called the stratum corneum, ergo consists of the first barrier that protects the skin in the form of a fine layer. If the stratum corneum is weakened, the cutaneous barrier is broken and the skin becomes more vulnerable to exterior stress.
Thus, the objective of hydration is to reinforce
this stratum corneum as well as the entire skin.
