Emilie is a 25 year old Canadian Olympian from Montreal, who competed in the woman’s K-4, 500 meter event at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, last summer.
Racing is an important part of Emilie’s heritage. Her father, Jean represented Canada at the 1976 Olympics, in Montreal.

Since the International Canoe Federation (ICF) granted "quotas" to Canada for a feminine athlete in the K1 500 meter, our kayak champion, Émilie Fournel, who surpassed herself becoming the best athlete in this discipline in Canada, is returning to the Olympic Games! And all this after coming 7th place twice, 0.5 seconds from a medal in the World Cup, what an achievement! Congratulations again to Émilie!
